Collaboratively conceptualise and build your own fictional world in this free 3-day workshop with Awesome Black’s award-winning artist Travis De Vries.

Using gameplay as a creative tool, students will work as a team to build a shared environment for an ideal future growing a concept for them to further develop as a group or individuals. Students will be guided through by De Vries using various processes of game creation and play followed by environmental and character concept art making.

This workshop will prepare participants to develop and present their worlds at home to family and friends.

Presented by Powerhouse at PHIVE in partnership with TAFE NSW.

Artists

Awesome Black is a creative social enterprise, developing original First Nations talent and unique storytelling content across a variety of mediums.

Travis De Vries is a Gamilaroi and Dharug artist and the founding Executive Director of Awesome Black. He is renowned for mixing traditional landscape photography with a unique approach inspired by his oil painting practice. In the sonic space, De Vries is known as Source Decay, crafting ambient soundscapes and immersive audio experiences.
