Architects Thierry Lacoste of Lacoste + Stevenson and Richard Does of DesignInc lead a tour of Parramatta’s PHIVE civic, community and cultural hub one year after its opening. Designed in collaboration with French architect Manuelle Gautrand, PHIVE was conceived as a stage for the theatre of community life. It received a commendation for sustainable architecture and public architecture at the 2023 Australian Institute of Architects NSW Awards.

The tour explores spaces including the library, exhibition and event venues, creative maker zones, community meeting rooms, tech labs and sound studios.

PHIVE Building One Year On forms part of the Building Communities program curated by Kate Goodwin with Qianyi Lim from Architecture Amplified. This program explores the inter-relationship of architecture, community and equitable environments through a program of walks, talks and site-specific performances.
