Generations – Yellowline

August

We spent our first month moving into the temporary space, using the money to buy equipment, furniture and move in so that we could get to work ASAP. Being in the new space was inspiring in itself. We had our friend and longtime collaborator All Black Alby bless the space and we worked on what would become one of the singles for our project. Though the temporary space has no sound proofing and is close to a main road, we experimented with new ways of recording to isolate background noise and learnt how to get around that.

September

This month we focused on the release of our first project. We shot and put out a music video along with our project ‘All Stops’ at the end of September. We started rehearsing with a live band for upcoming shows, all while relocating to our new space in the last week of September.

October

After settling into our new space, we started October with the video shoot for our single ‘Lotus’. We started working on new music while making appearances at Parramatta Lanes on both Niu and Bodega stages. We ended the month with the release of our new single ‘Lotus’.

November

November took on a bunch of new challenges. Performing with a band for the first time at two of our shows (Pasifika and Red Rug Sessions) plus a photoshoot, two Interviews on Cada with K-Sera and Nino Brown and our performance at 4ESydney in Blacktown. Ending November with a video shoot for our last single of the year ‘On Team’ and shooting a commercial for our new merch being released.

December

December saw lots of challenges being the festive season but we stayed super busy, starting the month with our video shoot for ‘On Team’. Mid-December we went into Powerhouse Museum to check out the music archives and got some great inspiration. We had our first Christmas Team Dinner and we released our Single ‘On Team’ along with visuals to end the year.

January

We started the year on a high, meeting at the studio on the 1st of Jan to set the tone for the year. This month consisted of a lot of planning and preparing our new music/project we created through the last few months. Receiving the last bits of funding was hard because we really had to budget and be precise with what we were spending it on. We spent a lot of time preparing music video concepts and project concepts. We shot visuals for our first single T1 and plan to release mid Feb. All while preparing for our first gig of the year at Phive in Parramatta!
