DR ALISON BARNES

Dr Barnes is Senior Lecturer, Design, Western Sydney University. She is researching the Powerhouse collection of branded food labels to show how food’s graphic heritage ‘speaks’ differently to diverse communities and builds a sense of belonging and identity. Her exploration seeks to enable an understanding of the relationship with, and importance of, Australian and overseas brands, connecting with Powerhouse interests in food, migration and social history.
